Has anyone contacted the USCIS ombudsman and gotten a positive response? And if so, how long did it take?? I filled the required form and also sent them a copy of my I-485 receipt and I-130. Am hoping and praying for the best. My AOS has been pending from last year- if you look at my timeline. I have contacted the congressman and 2 senators of Missouri but nothing and also written a letter to the supervisor with my case, taken 2 infopasses and taken 2 service requests, all with nothing :-( I am adjusting from F-1 and both my hubby and I have clean records.

Thanks!

What did the senator say in regards to your case?

What did they tell you at the infopass appointment?

It's important to know a little bit more about your situation so you could get some more advice from the members.

My AOS took exactly 1 year, I also had to renew my EAD but everything was delayed due to missing biometrics for I-485 and an address change. I didn't contact an ombudsman though, but honestly it would've been the next step.

Thanks for the reply! Both the senator's and the congressman all got the same answer. That my file is with a supervisor for review. We also got the same answer when we went for the infopass. We have placed 2 service requests, and the call center for USCIS both agree that our case is out of processing time. After the last service request they told us to wait till June 28, if we havent heard anything by then we call back. The weird thing is that when we had our interview the IO seemed to be satisfied with our case, didnt even ask a lot of questions. We were in and out within 10 monutes! She even took my I-94 and had us sign a paper that talked about removing conditions after 2 years. Now all this wait has really surprised us. But tell you the truth, we think our file was randomly picked for review by a supervisor, and that supervisor happens to have a lot of cases. When we went for one of the infopass, the IO told us the supervisor had a lot of cases and they did not know when he was going to get to our case. There is also another guy on this forum who has been waiting for like 20 months, and the twist is that he inteviewed at the same office and his file is with the same supervisor as ours !

We also changed our address but we filled out the address change with USCIS as soon as we moved. I just wish they would tell us if we are missing something or not. The wait is agonizing especially because i wanted to go back to school this summer but we cannot afford without financial aid, which ofcourse the school said i do not qualify.

I am really hoping the ombudsman will at least shed some light on what is going on. It will be one year on June 2nd since we applied, maybe that is the magic date :-)

Did you contact the senator or congressman about your case? Where did you interview? BTW we interviewed at St Louis.

Thanks.
