The 325 is not needed to be Notorized but Attourneys always say the Letter of Intent by the petitioner is Not required but a plus when Notorized. (I don't know why, I had mine Notorized.) My Attourney said: It would be better if I did.

I might be wrong, but you said One Passport 2x2 picture. I thought it was 2 pictures.

I did not see in your Petition: (although it maynot apply) Free to Marry on each P/B for the 129-F. As Far as what you listed. (It's required anyway with your petition)

Other than that, you look like you did a good job with the Application.

Good Luck to you...

Tim/Mav you confused me...

I know that notarizing the G325A is not a requirement.

The letter of intent for me and my fiancee basically states that we are both legally free to marry and that we intent to marry each other within the 90 days of her arrival in the united states. Why the difference between "Letter of Intent" and "Free to Marry." Whats more confusing is that you first state it may not apply then at the end of the statement you mention "It's required anyway with your petition."

You totally lost me with that.

Please clarify.

thx

@Barbara J:

This is coming straight out of the instructions for the I-129F. I know you're trying to help but you just confused the heck out of me.

No where in here does it state two photos.

cchhat01

Sorry did not mean to confuse you at all I could have sworn it was 2 but you are right my bad I am sure we sent 2 as they tend to lose things and hey about the pic of you putting the ring on her finger, I strongly suggest you take that out. If this ceremony was so lavish and your FB friends thought it was a wedding what do you think USCIS are going to think. Your pics can be shown at interview but all you need is a few of the 2 of you dated and where they were taken. Just warning you is all.

I think Tim/Mav is using the terms interchangeably which is causing confusion.

Yes you need a letter of intent (stating you both are free to marry) at the petition phase, but they do not have to be notarized. Hope that helps.

Tim/Mav gets a little confused at times when posting. The letter of intent is all you need for 129f petition. Stating how you met and that you will be marrying within 90 days yadaydayada. Ours was really simple, was how we met how our romance started and our times of visiting each other and so on and where we planned to get married. There is no letter of intent and then a letter free to marry WTH? Sorry you are so confused by all this. You are right the 325 did not need to be notarized but hey you did and thats cool. Neither does the letter of intent need to be notarized either. What you have is fine I would reiterate to cut the photos back though is all

@barbara J:

Hmm now the photos thing is scaring me a bit... if you wouldn't mind, can you PM me your email address? I would like to share some pics to get a 2nd opinion.

To me the pics look fine but then again, I sometimes don't think that objectively.

I can be a worry freak. I learned to be this way from a colleague.

Please PM me your email, would like to share some of the pics...

thanks

Well our engagement ceremony was pretty lavish, i was wearing a suit and she was wearing something traditional.

they can be mistaken for wedding pics, infact many of my facebook friends mistook them for wedding pics and started congratulating me thinking that I got married.

I'm only printing pics in which we're putting the ring on each other's ring finger, some snaps with all our parents lined up...

It really was a big function, but the truth is that it was simply an engagement ceremony.

even the invitation card printed shows it was was just that.

chirag, i dont know which consulate your fiance will be interviewing from, but if from delhi, be prepared to be scrutinized and even possibly turned down. K1s are highly scrutinized, especially from that consulate. I dont know what your situation is (and may be too late timing wise if you already have all the paperwork prepped), but if at all possible, see if you can get married and then apply for the CR-1. It just strenghtens your case if married. also, any myth that any lawyer or anyone else may have told you that K1s get processed faster is nonsense. to give you an example, my good friend, a CONSULATE OFFICER (!), met his fiance in Japan when serving at the American consulate in the far east. he applied for a K1 a month after I did and 7 months later, his fiance and my wife arrived in the US the exact same day (albeit different airports). point here is that I applied for a cr-1 and it took 8.5 months. he applied for a K1 and it took 7.5 months. in addition, she couldnt work until the adjustment of status (which is a fee of > $1000 AND an interview) which took another 4-5 months after which she finally got her green card. in contrast, my wife could work the moment she stepped off the plane (b/c of the green card/CR-1 visa) and in a month, was working in wall st. I dont want to scare you, but just read some of the K1 posts on the website for the Delhi and Mumbai consulates. they're not very favorable. If at all possible, get married and then Cr-1.

on to your question about the frontloading, I think adding a few pics of the engagement is enough; although when I filed the CR-1 for my wife I did send in all the email chats etc, but no pics. I had a lengthy packet, but it didnt deter me. I didnt get an RFE, so proof is in the pudding. You'll just end up paying a lot for postage initially. but better to be safe than pachtav later and wish you had included it upfront.

best of luck!
