A dilemma on birthdates...want to pull my hair out!

UGH i can't believe this happened. So we are filling out the DS-260 online this weekend, and we get to the part about his parents birthdates (he is the beneficiary). Basically I am asking him the questions, then filling it out online. We get to the part about the birthdates. He says his dad's birthday is Feb. 14. I said, "no it's not? That's valentine's day!" He replies, "yea I know! That's how I remember!" So i move on. But then I realize that we have that information in the G-325A from the I-130 packet we filled out last October. So today, i pull it out. I look at the form HE filled out and HE signed. He has his dad's birthdate as Mar. 14 NOT Feb. 14. Then I look at his mom's birthday. He put Sept.3 when really it's Oct. 3 (I knew this from sending her a gift last fall and wishing her happy birthday in an email that day).

So do we have a problem?? The I-130 was accepted with no RFE's with 2 wrong birthdates. So now, if we fill out the DS-260.... and put the RIGHT birthday's, are we going to have a problem? I mean, no where in this paperwork do we need his parent's birth certificates or anything. Do they cross reference the I-130 with the DS-260?

ARRGH I'm sooo frustrated at him right now!! It's like pulling teeth to get him to do the legwork (which is ONLY 1% of the work *I* have to do for this) and then when he does it, he obviously wasn't triple checking his facts with his parents.

Any advice??

IMO you should put the correct dates on the DS-260 since you are now aware of the parents' correct information. It may not cause any issues at all but if it does you can explain the discrepancies then. Good luck.

I'd say put the right birthdays on the DS-260. Not sure what province he's from, but don't the long form birth certificates show the parent's date of birth? If so, then that's where they could double check.

yikes.

it seems the best option is to put the correct birthdates on the new form. consider sending a notarized letter explaining the error for the previous form?
