Hi,

My wife is here in the US on K-3 visa. Now we are trying to figure out which path would be faster.

1. To go through Consulate in India OR

2. To go through Adjustment of Status in the U.S.

Our I-130 petition has already been approved and at the NVC. We received I-864 package and IV bill recently from NVC for our I-130 petition. So after this, the only step left is to have DS-230 mailed to us and then the petition will be forwarded to the consulate in India.

Please let me know if anyone has any insight into which process would be faster and better. Should we continue I-130 through consulate or should we apply for the adjustment of status in the US?

Thanks as always...

Since she is already here I would just do the AOS. Save the $$ of traveling back to India.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Yea i agree spending almost 2000$ for a ticket is not worth it.

Aos is the best option it may take a longer time but it would be better to go for an interview with ur spouse in the usa .

unless she wants to make a visit to het family.
