SOo my hubby had his medical and it went well. We got there around 6:45am, parked right outside the building in the front (you don't have to pay for parking till 8AM.....and we were out of there by 7:45) We checked in and gave the lady the interview letter, passport, then sat in the waiting room, 10mins later got called by another nice lady looked at the immunization records, passport, 3 pictures, and $275 payment, she gave us a recipet and everything back papercliped. Then sat a few doors down and waited 10mins for the chest x-ray, got called did that in like 3mins. Then got sent to a room, where 5mins later a lady came and took his height & weight, and asked him too drop all his clothes and socks, and change into a gown. Thenn Dr. Malcom came in....and he was super nice! asked basic questions, started with: are you a healthy guy/lifestyle, do you smoke? / every been hospitilized, abuse drugs, abuse alcohol, ever had a DUI , attended AA. Then asked him to sit on that patient table thingy lol checked his breathing, then layed down and pushed on his stomach, checked everything out, he did notice his tattoos and asked if they were done with clean needles. Then looked at his immunizations and said everything is great except one tiny glitch. His MMR. shot the stupid old dr. didn't right in a date, they left it blank and dr. malc said they automatically have to put in JAN 1st which makes my hubby 11 days before he would have been 1 yr old and explanied that the MMR vaccine is given after 1 yr old.... so he gave us a paper giving us 3 options track down the old dr. and find the exact date ( but he's retired) take a blood test to show he's immune ( but it takes 3 weeks for the results to come back and he'll have an interview by then) or just take the vaccine again. And fax the results to him and everything will be fine. Next we thanked him he left, and he went to take his blood test in the room next door, and that was it we were outta of there by 7:45AM.

Soo after all the stressing out and being nervous, everything turned out okay, We went today for my hubby to take the MMR and we will fax the proof to them tommorow. Also I was wondering if anything is wrong with the results or blood test do they let us know when we pick the envelope up ......or just say nothing?

I did my medical in toronto last week and had the exact same problem with the MMR.

I just went to a clinic, had it again, and they faxed the results in.

I picked up my results this past Monday. It took like 2 mins.

The lady handed me the stuff and said "you passed" and that was it.

The xray is HUGE by the way lol.

She told me to make sure I bring it to the interview, she said its pointless because they never look at it but they want to see you have it.

Thanks for the review of the Toronto medical. It was interesting to read the differences between Toronto and Montreal. I had mine done at Mediseys (not sure if I have the spelling right) I had my medical results couriered to me because I don't live close to Montreal and I wanted them in hand before I went back to Montreal for the interview. I was pleasantly surprised that the xray is on a cd instead of the huge negative. Anyway thanks for the review. I hope that everything works out great for you in the next stages :-)

Is there a list of required immunizations we can look at? seems like it would be something we could make sure we knock out before we even get to the medical. Thanks for the review... good luck!

I printed off this website and took the list to my local walk-in clinic though you should really use your family doctor if at all possible. That very afternoon, I got 3 shots in the arm (MMR, DTP, flu) and am glad they were all up to date for the medical.

My medical in Toronto went just as the OP described (minus the husband by my side  ) and I drove back in to pick the results up on Monday as well. The huge x-ray is kind of annoying (it'd be SO much easier to just tuck a disc into the envelope!) and I brought it to the interview, taking care not to bend or fold it while on the train and everything, and as mentioned earlier, no one asked to see it, or the piece of paper inside. A gentleman sitting beside me had a moment of panic because he realized most of the people in our group had their x-rays but he thought it was just for our own personal records, and the interviewers couldn't read them anyway, so he hadn't brought it. At the window where they collect the medical envelope and the one where they take other originals, they didn't ask him for it so he was quite relieved.

The waiting and the nerves for the medical and the interview were the worst part of the whole experience for me!

Yes. All the required immunizations are listed on the Panel Physician website. If you don't have a record of your immunization, I would recommend going to your physician and request a titre test. :)

If anyone has a medical coming up in the future make sure you look over your immunization card and make sure your Dr. filled it out right, and put a full year/month/ and day ! Also for the MMR the recieptionist and Dr. Seidens told us to go to a walk in clinic and take the MMR because it would be free...and it was! We were gonna pay to do it that day at seidens...but saved like $60, so that was really nice of her.

BTW do ya guys know if I can fax his MMR proof at any time of day to them...or does it have to be between 7am-8am?

Soo yesterday my hubby and I picked up his medical results downtown...everything was well, the lady was nice and he passed. She gave us the sealed envelope and the x-tray, She also gave us a cope of a immunization paper. Did anyone else get one of those? It's called the 'Vaccination Documentation Medical Worksheet Two' has his name info, case # date of exam. has all the vaccine names and the date he had them taken. And below is the results area and it has checkmarked. Anyone have any info on this paper? dosen't seem like anyone else got this. maybe it has to do with him faxing in the MMR?

-Application may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) as indicated above (also checkmarked)

-Applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) because vaccination(s) not medically approprite (as indicated above)

(DOES NOT HAVE THESE CHECKMARKED)

-Applicant will request an individual waiver based on religious or moral convictions

-Vaccine hisotry complete for each vaccine, all requirements met (documented above)

-Applicant does not meet vaccination immunization requirements for one or more vaccines and no wavier is requested.

BTW I'm glad we picked them up yesterday since it's raining today! But I do enjoy the sound of the rain :star:

Yes that gets attached to everyone's medicals. That is what you need for your AOS, so keep that in your files. It has nothing to do with faxing the MMR :-)

Mine is also check marked in the same places as your husbands. I was going to call them on this but after talking to other people they have the same things checked on theirs. Possibly because we didn't have immunization records from birth? Or possibly because of the second part about the age appropriate.....
