Hey everyone, I just randomly discovered this website while obsessing over the progress of my fiance visa, lol. I just received an email (which i suggest to sign up for on the uscis web page-they sent me a text too) saying my k1 was approved on 4-5-2011!!!!! That puts it perfectly at around six months from when I filed.

Quick question- is the K1 fiance visa considered immigrant or nonimmigrant? I was wondering and found on a gov website that it is nonimmigrant, meaning you can have you interview at the rome consulate. Opinions, please?!

Hello and welcome ahlekm01 :)

So you got your NOA2 after 6 months at the CSC? Did you get any RFE?

The only italian consulate processing K1 visas is the consulate in Napoli. You cannot have your interview in Rome. Good luck

I took a look around but seems like there's not many italian/american couples in the forum, BUT I've seen a few! So come on, let's come together and keep in touch! We can help each other

Ciao! I'm in the same boat as you! I'm Italian and he's from US.

Got our NOA1 in Jan, now waiting for the NOA2 but starting to get documentation ready. Coma va la procedura per voi?

Ragazzi, ciao a tutti!

Voi sapete qualcosa a riguardo?

Grazie mille!

Italin girl married to American man!

I don't know what to say about that Australian thing. I had to obtain police certs. from Italy, UK and France but nobody asked i provide them with finger prints. Buona Fortuna.

Oh and...does anybody know how I can send money to Italy without using Money Gram? They are grate but boy are the expensive! Their exchange rate is already higher and on top of that they want $20 for the stransfer. Is there a less expensive way you are aware of?

I'm late to the party but hello everyone! My fiance (soon to be husband - we're going for the CR-1) is Italian and I am half American, half British. Have any of you guys gotten the CR-1 through the Naples Consulate? Fortunately I live just outside of Naples and he lives in the city proper so we don't have to travel far like some of you.

We are another Italian-American couple, we applied via Direct Consular Filing since I (American citizen) have been living in Italy since 2007. The DCF process took only a little over 2 months for us, strangely enough. We are missing one doc and have to send it off to Naples and then we shall have the green card in hand!
