AOS for Dominicans - Which birth certificate?

Hi Everyone,

We are trying to understand the AOS process. I see that a "copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate" is required. For Dominicans, is that a copy of the short Acta de Nacimiento or is that another copy of the Acta In Extensa Legalizada? Also, can it definitely be a copy? Or do they want one of those in original form?

Thanks so much,

Mari

They will need the long form birth certificate (extensa) for the AOS application. Make sure its translated from Spanish to English. By copy, they mean "a photocopy of the original". But since its translated it will be a duplicate anyway and not the original, since the original is in Spanish. I hope this is clear.

K1 Visa Process -> 12/09-06/10 Married -> 09/10/10 AOS Process -> 09/10-12/10 Removal of Conditions-> 09/12-07/13

U.S. Naturalization -> 7/8/20

...I was about to post a topic on this very subject. The birth certificate we have is in Spanish. Looks like we're going to have to go to a translator for this....ugh, thought I was done.
