I would like to ask everyone: My fiancee in China and I (in US) are filling out forms to apply for K-1 soon. I want her to quit work and learn English full time so she is able to talk better English at the interview and she be better prepared to live life in the US after she gets her approval for the K-1 so do you think it is okay to send money to her every month for her expenses and to pay for English school? Will the Immigration frown on this and will it be a red flag or reason for denial of K-1?

Thanks.

Not a problem at all.

At the interview do not lie if asked but do not volunteer the information either.

Two points:

1. I think this is fine as Sam has mentioned, just be sure to be truthful at the interview if this is brought up or asked about. To be honest, if you can demonstrate that the two of you are able to communicate and can show a bonifide relationship, then her ability to speak completely fluent English is not an issue. Only an issue if she speaks no English and you speak no Chinese.

2. This is more for your fiancee. Regardless of her level of comfort with English prior to coming to the US, she will have an adjustment period that takes time. As she progresses in her ability she will seem much improved to you because she is familiar with your voice and accent. She will have trouble with other people. I have seen this a lot with the University students here. They have superb language scores but have a tough first year, but then adjust quite well as long as they are immersed.

Good luck!

Honestly I think sending her money can be even a good thing for your K1 application.

I don't want to say that spending money for her means that you love her more, but what they try to do with the Affidavit at the interview is making sure you can take care financially of your fiancee once you're married, so I think starting taking care of her now is just going to be a good point for you guys. This is JUST my opinion and I may be wrong.

It's very sweet that you're doing this for her (L) Make sure you both keep busy so time will pass sooner during the waiting for the process. Best of luck!
