after getting her medical exam done my wife went to the cfo, she really wanted to go and get it done after speaking to the women she met at st lukes so i said ok, neither of us thought that she probably woundnt be able to meet the requirements cause were still waiting for our marriage to be reported but they let her take the counseling seminar anyways. They just didnt give her the certificate of completion, the first reason was because we still dont have the nso marriage certificate which i get but then the list of things they needed got weirder, they told my wife they need proof of my singleness showing i was single and ready to get married, an original birth certificate from me and evidence of my employment! What? Then they said there was a problem with the fact that she calls herself her married name but her passport is her old name and when the marriage is reported all that will be a problem. If she just shows up with the marriage certificate will everything be ok? It doesnt matter what her passport says I understand the name on the passport will be the name on her visa im not worried about that, they also told her she should have got married in the philippines. what name should she sign with and call herself by if her passport is in her old name?

she's legally married now so she should use your last name consistently, after she gets her visa she may need to have her passport amended to her married name too and this is what she can say the CFO people. she should wait til she gets the marriage cert

although if you check the CFO website it says they can request other docs from the applicant so if you can secure the doc better for her to bring it too. the employment cert though is weird. she should ask why they want to see it. :)

You should have taken care of her passport after you had gotten married because what I have seen that it will conflict with her paper work and my take time to amend her passport in the states as she has to mail it in to the local Philippino Embassy. I had my wife do everything after she recivied her NSO paper to be able to change her name on the passport and at the same time she had to do the CFO just to get her passport changed so now all she has to do is do her medical when times comes and interview, once has her visa all she has to do is get her sticker.

Hello..I would agree with the statement above..if ever you can get the documents they required, then it's fr the best..you can just scan and email them and then she can just print them..as for the emoplyemnt certificate, I was not asked of it(what is that for??..lol)..maybe you can send her your paystubs coz I also brought some paystubs of my husband(on his paystub it shows at that time that he was single on the marital status)..but really??, they shouldn't ask that at all coz you are married already to her already..btw, if ever, you've been divorced before, send her your final divorce documents as well coz they might ask it...btw, where did she attend her seminar?..SMEF-COW is very strict..I had my seminar from PRISM before...God bless on your journey...
