Service Request Timeline

I know that this has probably been a topic again and again. I just can't find one to reference. I just put in a service request for my K1 visa. I received my NOA1 on September 2, 2010. It's been 45 days past the 5 month mark, and it's the first time I've been allowed to put in a request. What has been your experience? How long has it taken after the request to see any movement in your file? We are at our wit's end. Communcation is really tough, and visiting each other is simply inconceivable due to costs of travelling to Mongolia. We already had to cancel a trip that we'd paid for when we figured that we'd be together by April.

Thanks everyone. I'm on this site everyday though I don't post or really know how to use it well. It's been good to know that there are others with timelines as depressing as ours.

I'm sorry but you cant blame them. If you had read everything happen. That is why they're said dont buy airplane ticket until your beneficiary have the passport and the K-1 visa stamp in her or his hands first.

I'm sorry. I don't understand your comment. I can't blame who? VSC for telling me it would be 5 months and then giving me no update or information for 6 and a half months? I didn't buy any plane tickets or anything. I think you misunderstood my post. The trip was simply a trip here in the states for after she got here. We were hoping to visit a mutual friend in Florida before she left for Africa for the next two years.

All I'm asking is, what have people expereinced after having a service request put in?
