Hi,

We have interview on Sep 1 in New Delhi counsular.Me and my wife were there for interview at 8:30. After long wait we were called, but the visa officer told me to wait and he said he will call me later. he asked following Questions from my wife-----------

1. do you know abt ur husband's 1st marriage. She said Yes

2. Reason for teh divorce. She gave the answer.

3. Did you applied before for the student visa. Answer- Yes

4. Why the Visa was Refused and wat s ur qualification. SHe said i m nurse.

5. Do u have degree or certificates. Answer- Yes

6. Then he looked at the picture and asked her is this your picture she said yes.

7. When ur husband came to india?

After 2 or 3 questins he told her to sign a pape may be DS 230 part 2. And then he gave her a list of papers and asked her to submit tehse papers nearby VFS office.

she came back to me and told me whole story. Then i went back to the same window and asked to the visa officer for one minute. he said Ok. Then i asked why he did this he said he didnt refuse the visa wat he want that papers with passport so he can sent passport back with visa. he said we dont have to come back for another interview just submit that documents.

The documents he wants---------

1. List of 20 guests whoch are present in marriage, their phone no and addresses

2. My passport showing entries like how many times i came to india

3. Shopping bills which we had for our marrige

4. Catering Bills and bill for mariage hall

I m so confused , is she is approved or not if not why they asked for the passport. plz suggest me something.

plz if somebody has teh same situation share with me.

They can ask for that to establish proof of a bona fide marriage. They want proof that your marriage was the real thing, not a sham.

They want clear proof that the marriage was not entered into for the sole purpose of getting an immigrant a green card. This is considered to be a "sham" or fraudulent marriage and uncovering these relationships is a top USCIS priority.

So you need to give them everything they ask for.

08-10-2006 : NVC number assigned

08-11-2006 : sent to Consulate, India

08-14-2006 : packet 3 sent by embassy

09-20-2006 : interview - approved!!!!

Hi,

i have everything phone bills, letters and cards, marriage certificates, pictures, videos each and everything . i dont know why they asked for tehse strange things. i hope for best.

What is the latest status on this ?? Did you submit the reqd info and Are you guys through for her visa now?

When he asked for the list of 20 guest, why didnot you show them the pics where, I am sure, 20 peoples are there ...

Can you pl tell me your timeline, if you dont mind, such as when did you apply and when you recd. interview confirmation etc...I am trying to figure how long the DCF process takes(I assume you did DCF)
