LONDON – A man faced terrorism charges in a Scottish court Monday after being arrested on suspicion of aiding a suicide bomber who targeted Christmas shoppers in Sweden's capital.

Ezedden Khalid Ahmed Al Khaledi, 30, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court. He is charged under Sections 15, 16 and 17 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which relates to using money or property for terrorist purposes and fundraising. He also faces immigration and fraud charges.

Police and prosecutors have not disclosed details of the allegations against him and did not identify his nationality, except to say he is not British or Swedish. The BBC reported that he is Kuwaiti.

Al Khaledi did not enter a plea and was ordered detained while the investigation continues.

The suspect, who is believed to have been studying in Scotland, was arrested in Glasgow last Tuesday by officers investigating the attack on Stockholm.

Taimour Abdulwahab, an Iraqi-born Swede who studied in Britain, killed himself and injured two others when explosives he was wearing blew up in a busy shopping area in December.

The Swedish security police force said it was aware of the charges but would not give details. The prosecutor in the Swedish investigation, Agnetha Hilding Qvarnstrom, also declined to comment.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
