nvc told me they are waiting on agent of choice for my k1.... is this something I need to do??

i know im a DA i didnt ask because I was in a hurry then thought later what the heck is that and is it something i need to do.. i cant call back till after work so thought is ask the all knowing vj members

That's a new one on me. If they have generated a London case# then I wouldn't be too worried. Call again, either before they close tonight or on monday, to clarify that they have sent your case on to the consulate.

That's for spouse visas that get their greencard things processed at NVC. They fill in a form designating the USC as agent or name a lawyer. I think they made a mistake. Check up on it to make sure you're not in the wrong pile or she didn't give you somebody else's case number.

PHEW!! holy moly... they just have to stress me out dont they... We called back and was informed that we do NOT need the agent of record ..that it was error on the reps part our case is fine was entered in the system and is now on its way to london and if we have any other question to contact the embassy... the rep i spoke to this evening was nice enough to break down step for step as to what happens with k1's at the nvc... thank goodness it wasnt something I missed... it does make you question the information they give you and if its right or wrong....always double check.. and dont feel bad about doing it!!

Good news! Glad you got that sorted out.

DOS is your best method of finding out about your case from now on. And if you guys haven't done already, be sure to read Nich-Nicks wonderful UK K1 Help guide.

DOS can help you from now, onwards. They will track everything from now on with your case. Usually takes a maximum of 15 minutes to get through.

Our case took a week to be logged at the consulate, so probably not worth you calling till the middle of next week. And Nigel will be able to take some of the pressure off of you now, and call DOS himself.
