For anyone worrying about interviews next week and the government shut down a short term deal has most likely been reached which would go through thursday next week so any interviews on april 14th should be ok meaning my fiancee thank god

Also i hear a long term deal has been reached so no worries about a shutdown and embassy closed for interviews

My wife and kids (IR-1 and IR-2 visas) had their visa interview on April 4th. My wife's interview was actually on April 4th and my kids' visa interviews were scheduled on April 11th. The different dates were due to an earlier RFE that delayed my kids' paperwork. We couldn't reschedule due to the interview being too close, but when my wife got there... the consular officer (a very nice African-American lady) decided to do our kids' interviews together with my wife. The interview was very relaxed. I think my wife was stressful the few days before the interview, expecting them to grill her like how they do on those cop shows lol. When she got to the consular officer's office... she was very nice and eased my wife's mind right away. She simply asked who she was married to and when did we get married. She asked my kids' who their daddy was and they said me heh. That was it and she gave my wife the approval! My wife actually cried when she approved them. This has been a very hard and long journey for her and I'm glad my family will be together in the USA soon!

keith&jezyl, CFO can be completed in advance, but you'd still have to go back after the Visa is issued to collect the stamp.

My fiancee just had her interview yesterday and intended to take the CFO seminar but was told she needed to have the visa in hand. Has anyone got the CFO early then gone back for the stamp or is that an urban legend?

No you can go to the CFO seminar and take it but they will only stamp when u have your visa so they give you something saying you took the course. then she can just go back and get a quick stamp when she has her visa my fiancee got her cfo done over a month ago.
