We were told that we could "download" packet 3 if it didn't come in a certain amount of time. Were you that too? We're not sure where to "download" packet 3...craziness...we'll call again today. My fiancé will never get it if it is only mailed to his house. They barely have running water, so mail service is horrible!

Haha that's exactly what the guy told me on the phone, that I could download it off the website. I said that the invitation letter is not something that you can download because it has our specific info on it and that we'll never get it here in Mexico. He just sounded confused, especially when I told him how on VJ recent cases seem to completely contradict what he's saying.

They don't know what they're talking about. On Juarez consulate website you can only download instructions to schedule appointment, how can you pay visa fee and so forth including documents required for interview... that's all.

In the first post of this thread Blamb attached his letter. It's directed to petitioner, therefore it can't be downloaded.

When they say "packet 3" they are probably just referring to the fiancee forms you can download off the website. Unfortunately they use the same terminology for the letter they mail out.

Don't worry guys. You should get the letter in the mail at the US address.

Juarez just got our petition but they "can't" tell us when they exactly received it. They're also telling me the same thing they told Katwood about the beneficiary being the only one that receives the invitation letter. I hate how they keep giving the same consistently wrong info.

Haha. They can't tell you when they received it? That's weird. Try calling NVC. They should have received it at about the same time that NVC sent it out.

I called again and very patiently explained how there's a difference between the fiance forms and the actual invitation letter. The guy on the line told me to hold and then came back and told me I was correct and that we will both receive that letter. I wasn't too worried about it, but it definitely irked me that they're supposed to be helping and don't even know what they're talking about.

As far as the date they received, they still don't want to tell me or something, but it's no big. I'll start calling around May 18th asking if my letter has been sent... Just one more month of waiting and off to Juarez it'll be. I'm so ready for this to be over, but then again who isn't right?

My fiancé's mother just called to say that a document arrived to her house (that is on a little dirt road, hardly has water service and whose mail service is usually horrible). Could it be packet 3? She's bringing it over this afternoon (I live with my fiancé and our daughter in Oaxaca). Is it possible that packet 3 made if from El Paso to small town Oaxaca before arriving in Nevada?????

To complicate things further, my fiancé has been offered a small role in a movie here in Oaxaca. Trying to schedule the interview around filming will be challenging. I already have my airline ticket for May 11th and I don't want to be in the US alone with our daughter. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Is it possible for my finacé to receive important documents from my mother, who is our co-sponsor, in Juarez? I bet that I could have them delivered to the hotel. If we can schedule his interview for next week, he can go to Juarez before filming starts. Fingers crossed.

I think it's entirely possible for him to receive the doc's in Juarez, but it would have to be through dhl or a similar courier and probably by overnighting it which could be expensive. Still, if you don't mind that it could be a very worthwhile option.

I am worried about doing the ASC and Interview back to back but they couldn't offer them to us with a day between and the man on the phone promised that it would be okay. I hope so......

As a response mailing documents to Juarez, what about scanning and emailing them? I don't think there are any documents that will require a fresh, original copy (correct me if I am wrong). I emailed some pay stubs, the interview letter, and some other financial stuff without any problems at the interview.

Also we did schedule our ASC the day before the interview and we did not have any issues related to that. Apparently there was something in their system that said "missing document" on the day of the interview. The guy on the phone today said the following day it was waivered or cleared. Maybe that was the fingerprints from ASC they were waiting for? Who knows. The guy on the phone did not and we don't. All we know is that our documents are in transit with DHL and we should hopefully get the visa tomorrow!

I have read that originals aren't necessary for the I-134 but I am just so worried that something is going to go wrong - like a new policy or a grumpy consulate officer.

Am I really crazy for having my mother send him all original documents for the I-134? She also has a notarized affidavit of support. Shouldn't that be original?

"Overkill" is my middle name in all areas of my life. I'm a teacher and you should see my lesson plans. :-S
