Hi All,

Did anyone recently have interview in India for Spouse Visa ?

If yes , can you please share if 2 PCC's were needed or just one. I am getting conflicting information.

Please any update is useful ?

I submitted the 1 original PCC jan 2011 and my case was complete feb 2011, the interview is this month (march).

im asking my wife to get her PCC done but when she went there they asked her for a "copy of letter(from USA) for which she required PCC"

so is it that she will only be able to get her PCC done when NVC emails/mails her...

any ideas...

did u had to go through the same...

Did she went to Ahmedabad office to get her PCC?

Not sure why they asked for it since as a citizen of India you should be able to get a PCC whether it is for immigration purpose or not. It just checks your criminal history and issues a letter (PCC) with the same so not sure why they are making a big deal out of it to give it to you?

I do know that the PCC HAS to be within 6 months of THE INTERVIEW. so dont get a PCC too much in advance lest you end up having to get another one. Go to the consulate's page and make sure or just call them and try to talk to a human there to get the answer. hope this helps.

PCC (Passport Police Clearance) is good for a year. The Police Clearance Certificate is only good for 6 months.

How were you able to do it than?

My wife is also trying to get the Police Certificate letter. But, we don't have NVC email yet (we have invoice for affidavit of support, immigration bill etc).

Yes, what i have read from the forums is that its hard to get PCC from Ahmedabad Passport Office, because they ask for interview letter before they issue you PCC.
