Ok guys I need help!

I have been trolling forums and websites for many months but I am still lost.

I am currently living in Kentucky, I have my 2 yr green card and am still living with my USC husband. He works, I don't and for a while this is the way it is going to stay this way. Therefore I cannot get medical benefits through employment as I am jobless. My husband and I tried to add me on to his insurance through work, but because he is a contractor it was very expensive. He pays $120 per month for himself which includes dental, to add me to this insurance would be $850 per month, which is rediculous.

I have search some websites, but it seems they say I need to be in the US for 2 years before I can get insured. I don't want to wait that long! I am scared soemthing will happen and my husband and I will be left with a huge medical bill we can't pay.

Please can someone help me, where did you guys get insurance from if you are a housewife and could not be insured through your husband?

Thanks in advance, I'm desperate and worried.
