Hello! I am, as usual, a little confused. I received the the for, I-797 from USCIS stating that my petition was approved. It says it is valid until June 10, 2011 and has the consulate listed. I called NVC and they just said they had my case, gave me a new case number, but no more information. What am I waiting for now? I thought we were to travel to the consulate by June 10, 2011, but its just not clear. I know the consulate we are using (Juarez, Mexico) does not give actual interview dates, but am I waiting for something from NVC? Thanks, I really appreciate any input. This has been a learning experience!

Hi there, and congrats on your approval! Now that you have a new case number, you can call the Department of State (here) and check what's happening with your application.

Once the NVC forwards your case to the consulate, they will send the beneficiary information about the paperwork needed for "Packet 3". Check this link out to see what's coming up, but I would read through the Mexico forums to see how things usually progress in terms of time or procedures, since some consulates only issue 'electronic' versions of Packet 3.
