"hi experts, i have met my husband (US citizen) in 2007 through work when i was on a J-1 Visa, we officially started dating from 2009. shortly after i finished my J-1 program and left USA. from the time i left the USA until now it has been a year. i have been back to the USA 5 times on a B2 visa.

the last time i entered here was in June this summer, i was going to stay here for 3 weeks then will be back to Europe after.( i have brought returning ticket) i have done this 4 times already. but the time has come he proposed to me in July. and i said yes to him:) his family has arranged a wedding for us in Aug. we filed I 130 and I 485 in Oct. everything seems going well so far. and i believe that my husband and i will be having an interview with USCIS at the end of the AOS process is this correct? and during the interview what kind of question we will be questioned? according to my case is there anything i need to be aware of before i go to the interview? has anyone here experienced same thing like me/or adjust status successfully from B2 status? if so will you give me some advices please? i am really new to this. i am very happy to be with my husband and excited to plan the future with him together but on the other hand every time when we about future i feel scared because i am not sure if i can get my status adjusted or not. please help. thank you ! " i have posted this on Nov 21 and got huge help from you guys!!!

it has been 2 months and i finally received my AOS interview notice, my interview is scheduled on Mar 9th.

Hi Emmy,

There are a lot of reviews here on interview experiences, click on the reviews tabs and choose the state where you're at or the guides and you can also use the search button if you want.

We had our interview last Feb. 8, and there is no clear cut way to find out what they will ask you. My husband and I run through our immigration paperworks the night before and felt that we didn't really need to "review" our love story because we have been living together for more than 2 years before we got married. On the day of the interview, we were caught off guard because none of the questions were about our courtship even our wedding. It was all about my daughter from a previous relationship. He knows her but not that much as she is in the Philippines. He just knows her basic info like bday and name and the plans that we have when she gets here. All in all it was a very good interview, very pleasant and comfortable. We hit a bump but we were able to overcome it. A couple with a legit relationship will not have a hard time overcoming questions that they have not prepared for. If there's anything, honesty really is the best policy in this situation, because they're able to see through you, your actions and interactions.

Bring all the documents they asked for.

I wish you all the best on your interview. :)

My husband adjusted from a B2. Our full interview experience is under August 2010 filers, but in short, they asked us for a very detailed history of our relationship together, asked me a ton of questions about my ex-husband, and asked for all our evidence. It took about an hour. They didn't ask one question about why my husband overstayed, if he had worked here, or anything like that. It was more an interview of ME (the USC) than of him!

OUR TIMELINE

I am the USC, husband is adjusting from B2.

Hi Banoinks,

I was only asked for my passport when she was ready to stamped it with my greencard and she took my I-94. She did not ask for any other document, we werent even able to touch our small suitcase full of evidences, not even the pictures. It is different for every couple and I think it depends on the evidences you submit. Ours was more talking than showing of any document.

Good Luck!! :)

Thank you. :) I think you'll be fine, they expect some nervousness. The interviewer did go back and forth some with the history of our relationship - ie she mostly asked me, but then she'd pause and ask my husband a random question about it to make sure we both knew what we were talking about. As long as you're legit you've got nothing to worry about!
