Average Wait Time after Packet 3 sent to Montreal?

We sent our Packet 3 in January and are now facing a decision as to whether or not to take a new job here. Without knowing when my husband's interview may be, we don't know if we are looking at leaving in a matter of months or closer to a year.

Anyone who filed recently able to tell me how from mailing packet 3 to getting a visa in hand - four months, 8 weeks, a year?

Why not call DOS to see if packet 3 was logged and if packet 4 was sent out. If it has been logged and packet 4 sent you can book your interview. Last I heard they were booking mid May in Montreal.

Hum, I didn't know that I could do that since the Consulate doesn't take any inquiries over the phone or email. I never thought to call elsewhere.

Do you have the number? I am not sure where I would even call. That would be great, if I can.

Thanks!

DOS phone number is 1-202- 663 -1225 ...Press 1 for Main Menu.,..Then right away press 0 for an operator. Don't be alarmed when you keep hearing a ringing sound while on hold. They don't play lovely music for you. DOS can tell you when packet 3 was logged and when packet 4 was sent.

Happy calling!
