Hi Guys, I posted it here because I wanted to know people's experiences filing K-1 Visa at Manila Embassy. My fiancee and I are a bit lost right now and trying to figure out what to do next. I know about the flow chart and all, but that is more for a general flow chart and it seems that different embassies might ask for different things. So here goes:

First off, a little something about me and my fiancee. We met during enrollment in college after transfering from another school (she transfered from UP and me from the states). We started dating during 2nd sem in our 1st year in college. So we've been together for almost 6 1/2 years now. I left a month after graduating in 2008. I went back to visit her in 2009. We got engaged when I visited her, but I was unable to file until 2010. I had worked only part-time until the middle of last year when I became a full-time employee. We communicate constantly everyday; we text, email, skype, magicjack, plug n talk (smart), ym, facebook, telephone and regular old snail mail.

We received an email from USCIS that are petition has been approved, but we have not received the hard copy.

-So my 1st question is, should I wait until we receive the hard copy before we try to contact NVC?

-Do I need to send a hard copy of the NOA2 to my fiancee or can I just send a scanned copy through email later on?

As stated I only started working full-time in August of last year, but I have worked for the same place since I came back to the states. I fufill the 125% over poverty line (a couple thousand over it), but I don't own anything other than my car. I live with my parents for the time being. I was wondering if I can use them as a co-sponsor? I have read that it's not useful at the Manila Embassy, is this true? With regards to bank account (checking and savings) is there an amount they are looking for or do they just want to see that I have money?

I know they want to see proof of an ongoing relationship after we filed, but we didn't really send mail or emails very much. We sent mostly messages on Facebook, text messages and called using magicjack, skype or regular cellphone/telephone. Skype doesn't have call logs anymore. Will these be enough of proof that we kept in contact with each other? The mail that we did send to each other, we asked family members who were going to the Philippines to deliver our mail. So I don't know if that's going to work out well because there's not stamps.

Thanks for any and all advice given. Feel free to ask for any further information.

Thanks

I can answer a few of these. You can call the NVC before you get your NOA2 in the mail. I got my approval email on Jan 27th and I called them everyday starting on the 31st. On Feb 1st. they told me my case had arrived and gave me my new case number. They said it was being worked on and would be at the US Embassy in Singapore next week. I then received my official NOA2 on Feb. 2nd in the mail. I can still print out my call logs on Skype. I just go to the call tab and click on view call lists. I gives the calls times and dates of each call. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, I tried calling yesterday, but they said they were closed due to the snow storms. Are you going to send the NOA2 or a copy of it to your fiance? Did you update your Skype? The newer version of Skype took it off. I looked online and they said call logs weren't needed, so they took it off. I think it's Skype v5. Thanks

Yes I heard they were closed. I am going to call them today to see if mine has been sent out yet. Then on Monday I can start calling the embassy in Singapore. I am trying to make up for lost time. You are right about skype I may be running an older version. I am on a mac so it may be different anyway. I also use skype on my cell phone through verizion so I can get get call logs there as well. I will send a copy of the NOA2 to my fiancee. I do not think she needs it but it could not hurt. Good luck on the rest of your Journey!

I think I found away for you to get your last 6 months of Skype call logs. It seems to work with the new version. You may have already tried this but go to your actual account page. Not the one that you chat on but the one that has all of your account information. Then click on call list. I just copy and pasted my last 6 months from there. It would not let me copy it from the page that I chat on even-though I could see it. Anyway....I hope this helps.

You can use skypelogview to print out your call logs. Just download it. Overkill is good, so gather as much evidence as you can.

The NOA2 is needed for Adjustment of Status, you don't need it at this point. At least I never needed it anyway. You are free to contact NVC

As for co-sponsor, I am confused about this, because when I had my interview they did not accept my co-sponsor form (petitioner's dad) but other people say their co-sponsor forms were accepted, so it won't hurt to try. But it is much better if you already earn above the poverty line, which you do. We also don't own a house so it doesn't mtter. Provide tax returns, employment letter and pay stubs.

hi..i'm new here..you said your co sponsor form wasn't accepted but is your husband's income qualified the 125% poverty line? if not, did they still got you approved?..we have kinda the same problem about the co-sponsor thingy..my fiance's income doesn't reach the 125% because he just started with his job last november as full time..and because he used to study while working and haven't filed taxes the past years because of this..that's why we will be needing a co sponsor..his income as of the moment from november doesn't reach that 125% yet but then once computed annually it is over that 125% poverty line..would that be ok if ever the Phil embassy won't consider having a co-sponsor?..oh..well, this is our only problem as to the processing of the visa is concerned..another question about the co-sponsor thing is if my US citizen brother will be qualified to be our co sponsor for the I-134 or even the I-864a soon on the AOS?..

i'm hoping someone could help me about this..thanks so much!!
