i was just wondering if it would be a problem to be in Philippines with my wife and kid throughout the whole process.

It's not a problem if you are temporarily in the Philipines and you have maintained a domicile in the US.

Having a US domicile is critical when filing the I-864 Affidavit of Support. The petitioner/sponsor must have a US domicile or proof of establishing one prior to the immigrants entering the US. Visas cannot be issued to your wife and child unless you meet the domicle requirement.

Read the instructions for Form I-864.

P.S. Why are petitioning for your child? Is there a reason why your child is not a US citizen?

i said i'm staying with them here, not filing for them both. my kid's CRBA is all done.

i still have a bank account and filed taxes the 2 years i was here. i think i should be good.
