Go for F1 OR Get Married and go for F3

I am the adult son of a USC. My petition under category F1 is already in NVC with a priority date of May 2007, which is close to getting current.

Here is my dilema. Go ahead with F1 Category, get GC, get married, and then file for my family under F2A.... OR Get married now and move to F3 category and wait another 5 years.

Right now I am legally single, but in reality I have a complete family with 2 dauthers of my own and 1 boy from my future wife. We all live together in my house and function as a very close family. I never got married so that my category would stay under F1 which is faster than F3 and my plan is to get my own Green CArd first and then immidiatly get married and apply for my wife and kids which I know will take about 3 years. The problem with that plan is that I would have to be separated from my family for those 3 years. So I have began wondering if getting married now and moving to F3 category which is about 9 years waiting would be a better choice.

I have already sent DS-230 and civil documentation under F1 category just for myself. Is it a good idea to get married now and move to F3?

What are de PRO'S and CON'S?

look....it is better to do everything officialy specially with US Visa...

If they smell sumthg is wrong with ur case.or u r married n still applying on unmarried basis..u can be abandoned from US for 10 years....so just wait for ur PD to be current...n have already submitted all ur paperwork with NVC....so just wait for ur case to be completed and then ur Interview....go to US and then come back and marry and file for ur wife and kids....

Another option is that if u r not eager to go US quickly n want to stay with ur wife and kids...better inform them that u r now married n convert ur category from F1 to F3...

Only benefit u will get is the old PD of 2007..but keep in mind currently for F3 the PD on State Dept's VB is Jan '2001...so u will hav eto wait for more than 5 + years to go US....

Now, even if u go US as unmarried and return back , thn marry n then file...ur wife n kids will get US within 2-3 yrs...maximum of 4 yrs which is far better than 5 + years...

it's ur cholce....but dont do anythg Unofficially
