Hello all,

I wanted to let everyone know that I did send a letter to the Dept of State as many of you did and I received an email today telling me the same song and dance. An overwhelming amount of DV winners and short staff, I even put in the letter that I know about that and yet they told me the same thing I told them. So no movement, but just thought I would update that they are still saying the same thing.

Hello all,

BELOW WAS THE REPLY I GOT FROM THE EMBASSY IN GHANA;

Thank you for your email inquiry.

We wish to inform you that the case is awaiting appointment scheduling for the U. S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana. We are unable to predict when the case will be scheduled for an interview. The National Visa Center schedules appointments for interviews in the second week of each month for the following month. We determine our scheduling based on the capacity provided to us by each Embassy/Consulate General. The beneficiary and petitioner will be notified by mail, once an interview has been scheduled.

We hope this information is helpful to you and please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

U.S. Embassy Accra

Consular Section

Thank you for sharing this information. It still looks like the wait is at least year long based on recent interviews that have been granted to individuals whose cases closed in December, 2009. If it is like it was last year, the window for spousal interviews closes between May - September when the the lottery visa interviews occur. Hopefully, before that window closes, some of the cases that closed in 2010 (along with those left from 2009) will get an interview - unfortunately my husband's case is not in that group. But, our joy is still coming. Again, thanks for sharing. :yes:

Staying strong and patient in love and faith!
