Hello all, i read a number of posts about n-400 applicants that have more than one A-number and that caused them to not receive a "recommendation for approval" at interview till interviewing officer receive the second A-file. My question is, does this always mean that if one has multiple A-numbers, one will not get an approval at interview or are there cases in which interviewing officer/local office reciveve all your A-files before interview? Thank you for your input.

I read several posts from people who had more than one alien registration numbers from previous applications such as employment authorization cards or H1b etc....and at the time of the interview, interviewing officer only had one of the A-files and hence couldn't make a decision till he/she gets the second A-file. I was wondering whether it can be possible that USCIS sends all files to district office before interview or is that something that only gets noticed at the time of the interview.

Also read a couple of posts regarding multiple alien numbers. Do not believe the poster even told why but was like the USCIS screwed up. Never stated about multiple applications for the same thing. All I know is we only and always had only one alien number, the same for my wife and the same for my daughter.

So did you have multiple applications for the same thing? Maybe like you were getting married to a US citizen, changed your mind after filing, found another and applied again. If you didn't, really don't have any reason to worry. Your alien and social security number should never change even if you name does change for some reason. Need that document trail, need a filing cabinet for all of your important papers.
