I am stilling trying to find out information on how to receive a "Request for Police Clearance" from the US embassy in the Philippines. I need a request from the US Embassy in order for the Brunei Embassy to give my fiancee police clearance from Brunei. We are currently waiting for NOA2 on my I-129F for her K-1 Visa. Do we have to wait until after NOA2 for the embassy to give her a request letter? If so, I'm afraid it will take a long time to get the clearance she needs for her interview, and things will be delayed. Does she need to ask the US Embassy to give her this request, or will it automatically come when the embassy receives her packet for her K-1 visa? Will they mail her the request?

Any help would be apprecieated here. We have been trying to get her police clearance from Brunei for quite some time now, but keep running into road block after road block.

By the way, the list of instructions to receive the police clearance from Brunei posted many times on this website and on travel.state.gov is wrong according to the Brunei Embassy in the Phlippines. They say she needs a "photo copy of the request from the embassy of interest." The Brunei Embassy in the Philippines has already told us we need the request letter, whether we apply through them or directly to Brunei (which will simply get forwarded to them).

Thanks,

James

I called the USCIS service center today. They were not able to give me any information on how to get a request from the US embassy for police clearance from Brunei. They simply refered me back to travel.state.gov. They also could not give me a phone number for the US embassy in the Philippines.

I hope someone can help me here. Will the "Request for Police Clearance" come automatically from the US ebassy after my petition for K-1 visa is approved? How long after NOA2 will that be? Is there any way to speed things up to get the request sooner? I think it might take two months to get the police clearance from Brunei after the US embassy gives us a request.
