I am helping friends through fiancee visa paperwork. I also have friends who married & came in on a spouse visa.

If you do fiancee visa your fiancee will be here faster, it may cost slightly more to complete this.

If you marry in Mexico it could take 2 years to get him here mainly because the spouse visa at Cd. Juarez requires an appointment date & these are super hard to come-by!!! Some married friends of mine waited over a year just for the appointment even thought they were married for 2 years & had been approved in the USA! Cd. Juarez is a BUSY place!

If you do a fiancee visa you will get an 'OPEN' appointment letter, most likely in 5-6 months so you can go to Juarez when you are ready. This means you get approved in 5 months, then maybe a month later you/he goes to the open appointment. Much faster in my opinion.

(You MUST go through Cd. Juarez, no matter which visa you chose)

If I were going to marry someone from Mexico and planned to live in the USA I would personally go the fiancee visa route since they would get into the USA faster!

That is my dos centavos! If you marry in Mexico you will be separated for a longer amount of time unless you go live there with him.

Best of luck...and if you have any other questions just ask! I just helped my friends do some awesome fiancee visa papers & I think it is certainly doable with out a lawyer if you are an organized person!

Kim

p.s. I don't think his past visas will affect him badly in anyway as long as you are honest about all of it!
