NVC says they sent Packet 3 as of November 1st, and it will be going to my parent's house (my permanent address for mailing purposes), and they will send it on to me. I'm trying to get everything prepared to send back the next day after it arrives, since we all know the wait for Montreal could be several months!

After reading the wiki on P3 from Montreal & searching the forums, I'm a bit confused. I think I'm second guessing myself by reading peoples' posts from other countries.

So, when I get P3, I just sign the checklist indicating I have everything, but don't actually send anything back that's listed on the checklist? And, the medical is listed on the checklist, which I obviously can't get yet... I think I read somewhere, check the item off if you are reasonably certain you will have it by the interview date (eg: I'm just waiting for my fiance to mail his tax stuff to me).... so I can check it all off, even if I can't do the medical yet, correct?

And, the DS-forms. Besides the checklist, those are the only forms we send back with P3?

I know it seems like a long winded, mundane question, but I just kept second guessing myself to the point where I needed to ask :)

As far as I remebered, there was a couple DS forms that I filled and sent, including the confirmation page of one you do online. As far as the checklist goes, I just checked that I had everything required for my case, signed it, and that was it. I brought everything with me at the interview. I think on the cover page it actually tells you not to send anything right now, but to sign it. They probably just want to make sure you are aware of everything you need. This way you can't get to the interview and be like "oh, I didn't know I needed that!"... That's what I think anyways... Good luck!

I agree with the previous post. When I first got that packet, I was so thrilled that I didn't read it thoroughly and ran around to get everything done, including the medical and the police check. However, you really only need the forms, some pictures if I remember correctly and the checklist for now. Unless things have changed at the Montreal consulate in the last couple of months, you will have plenty of time to take care of the rest after you've mailed it in.

Good luck to you!

Our NOA2 was just approved, Nov. 1. We have already started collecting documents, filling out forms, etc. Start doing everything which is in your control now. I do not think you can set up a medical date until you have the packet 3 in your hand, but you can collect everything else. This way by the time your packet three arrives, you will be prepared. You do have to complete DS 230 Part 1 and send in asap. Then fax the checklist, and mail in the other documents, I believe.

I also have a question. How to track my file with NVC online? We were approved on Nov. 1, but now what can I do to find out the status?

NVC says they sent Packet 3 as of November 1st, and it will be going to my parent's house (my permanent address for mailing purposes), and they will send it on to me. I'm trying to get everything prepared to send back the next day after it arrives, since we all know the wait for Montreal could be several months!
