Wait between packet 3 and 4

Hello again,

Anyone from Mumbai would probably have the best answer to this but teh question is open for all:

How long is the wait generally after we submit packet 3 and before we hear back with packet 4. Or in other words after submitting packet 3, when should we find out what our interview date is?

Well, not goin thru mumbai consulate... but It shudn't take more than 7-10 days and another option u have is that you can call them or email them and request them to give you an interview date ASAP !!! It works.

10/27/2006 - Case received at CSC

11/09/2006 - E-mail recevied from CRIS saying AOS Approved and welcome notice mailed.

11/14/2006 - An approval letter mailed.

11/15/2006 - Green Card Received !!

I agree with shalz -- emailing or calling seems to be working.

2006-08-28: Picked-up packet 4 from the consulate, counter 16 (between 2 PM and 3 PM)

2006-09-20: Interview Date (VISA Approved!!!)

2006-09-23: Picked up Passport with VISA from Blue Dot courier office (VFS did not hold it)

2006-09-27: Reached Home!!! (POE Chicago)

2006-06-12: Received and entered into NVC system

2006-07-08: Self Generated DS-3032 and sent to NVC

2006-07-12: Received IV bill

2006-07-17: Receive I-864 package

2006-07-19: Send back I-864 package

2006-07-19: Pay IV bill (was out on vacation)

2006-07-31: Sent in self-generated DS-230 (after NVC was ready)

2006-08-03: Case being reviewed by NVC (per operator)

Timesnap, I don't think we need to send 230 for packet 3. That's part of packet 4. If I am wrong please correct me so I too can start preparing that. thanks!

If any one you are here in US, you can call Department of States 1-202-663-1225 and find out if there is an interview scheduled for your case#.

If not, may be your spouses can call DOS.

01/11/2006 Case sent to Embassy

01/16/2006 Case deliverd to Embassy as per DHL tracking

February 7th, 2006 Found out Interview date by Calling DOS (202-663-1225)

February 13, 2006 - Packet 4 received

March 21st, 2006 - Medical

March 23rd, 2006 - Interview --- VISA APPROVED

March 24th - Passport received. ( Applicant picked up passport from Courier/delivery service office)

April 7th - Hubby's POE at Chicago.

April 10th - Trip to SSA Local office to apply for Social Security Card.

April 27th - 1st Welcome letter

May 1st - 2nd Welcome letter

May5th - Received Social Security card in mail

May 11th - Received Green Card in mail

196 Days @ USCIS ( 178 for NOA2 + 18 case transfer at NVC)

50 Days @ NVC to complete the case

13 Days @ case transfer at embassy

65 Days @ Embassy

Total -324 days from NOA1 to Visa approval

Timesnap is right - Delhi is one of those &*^%$^ places which has to deviate from the norm. DS-230 part I is required (I confirmed that with an email to the embassy and they validated it).

Timesnap -- I emailed the ND embassy inquiring about the receipt of the DS-230 -- noting so far. I think my wife is thinking of visiting those guys in ND (God save them :D ). Hope she bonks the operator on the hear for me :P

Let's keep each other posted about things...
