Question about SLMEC & Interview Scheduling

Hello everyone! Finally!! I just got my NOA2 approval email today. Thank you Lord. I have a question about the interview scheduling and the medical. Can someone verify this? Is it true that my fiancee can go to SLMEC (without scheduling an interview prior) and they will be able to schedule an interview for her after she has passed her medical exam? I've read some stories about others doing this? I'm not sure if this can be done or should I schedule the interview for her? I'm trying to get my fiancee ready once I get the notice from the Manila Embassy that they've received our petition. Can someone explain the process I should take next? Should I schedule an interview for her first (if so, when?) then have her take the medical (at least 1-2 weeks) before. My goal is to accompany her to the interview next month (December). I will be going to the Philippines on Dec. 11th to early January. Maybe some of you can offer a timeline as to what I should do NOW up until I leave on Dec. 11th. When should I call NVC? Manila Embassay? I guess I'm just trying to figure out a "basic layout" for everything. Thanks for your help everyone. I would not have gotten this far without all your valuable information from the initial 129F petition to the present time. God bless to all still waiting and to those who've already begun a new journey in life.

NOA2 Approval - 11/3

Follow Up to NVC? 11/?

Schedule Interview? 12/?

Have fiancee do medical? 12/?

if you have the hardcopy NOA2 and a MNL case number from the NVC, there is no reason to wait for the letter. I highly doubt you will get a december interview if unless the embassy has the case already.. They schedule dates out the first 2 weeks of the month for the next month. Granted K1 is a little different, but dont buy your tickets until you know there is an interview scheduled.

What you need to do now is to wait until next week, call the NVC and talk to a human to get your case #.

Once you have the case number, your fiancee can go to St Lukes with the copy of the NOA2 and MNL case number. You might want to download packet 3 off the embassy's website. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/301443/pdf-files/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet_001.pdf Have your fiancee get her NBI clearance and any other police clearances if appropriate.

Thank you for the reply. Now I'm concerned about the interview date next month if what you say is true (they schedule dates out the first 2 weeks of the month for the next month). I was really hoping to go with her but now it seems unlikely as they are probably booked. I will be there until Jan 7th so I might be lucky to get an interview date then. My fiancee has ALL the docs required (NBI, NSO and Cenomar). Just waiting for the next step now. I will take your advice and wait until next week to contact NVC for the MNL Case #. I guess it is more logical to schedule the interview first then have her due her medical about two prior (as most have suggested in here). I hope some December schedulers will chime in....Thanks!

Some information yes. The exceptions are that the NVC will schedule the interview appointment and the interviews are normally scheduled later in the month.

the wife was told that it would be better if there is already an interview scheduled. the reason being is that the medical has an expiration. depending on the medical results, the person the wife talked to at SLMEC said the validity of the medical can either be 3 or 6 months.

but the person wife talked to did not discourage her from getting a medical exam already. SLMEC told my wife if she wants to get medical already, to bring letter with case number.

Medical is good for 6 months. Mhay did hers in feb & had an april interview. I would rather get the medical done soon as possible just in case you fall into the racket of them seeing a "spot" on the xray. Just saying. Rather be safe than sorry. Also it would be a good idea 2 do it before you get there because then you will get your money's worth because they won't do immunizations if she has had "contact" with you.
