Hey guys!

I finally got a job with my shiny new college degree (yay!). I can finally begin the process of my husband's visa.

Anyway, I'm filling out the W-4, and it says if my spouse is a nonresident alien I have to file as single. Can I do this a different way? On the Allowances worksheet, I think like 3 is for "spouse". Do I give myself one point for that, even though he's a nonresident alien? He's never worked in the US or been here for over 3 months.

Thanks a lot guys :D

Distance between two hearts is not an obstacle; rather a great reminder of just how strong true love can be.

There is a more advanced worksheet on the IRS website. I used that because I wanted to get less tax taken out since I was getting married before the end of the year last year, would be owning a house for all year instead of just one quarter etc. It goes through a lot of different things (like Turbo Tax!) and tells you exactly what to write on the W-4.

I found out that in JUNE I had paid all the tax I'd needed to for that year. (wow!)
