DCF Filing

Hi,

Could someone help me out with a few answers!

My husband and I are filing a DCF I-130. Once that is complete I don;t quite understand how things will work. My husband (the immigrant) has a job offer in the US. Will he be able to work right away if he already has a SSN from previous time spent in the States or does he have to wait for the official green card in the mail?

Also, with the I-864, if both of us are currently out of the country, could his job offer count towards supporting us? Or will we have to use savings/assets to cover the acceptable support levels. If I have a job offer in the US, could we use that to cover the acceptable levels of income for the I-864?

Thanks for your help!

~ If he got his previous SSN and if it contain some restriction from Department of Homeland Security then he has to follow that rule.It means like if he is an IT professional then he can do work only in his regarding IT field. But if u marked yes in DS-230 to get his SSN to arrive at home then he will get within 3 weeks. That SSN will not contain any restrictions. And if the current SSN has not any restrictions then i think he can do any work.

Also, with the I-864, if both of us are currently out of the country, could his job offer count towards supporting us? Or will we have to use savings/assets to cover the acceptable support levels.

~ No. The job offer will not be counted. You can use ur savings/assests in I-864. If its not suffice then you can take any Co-sponsor.

If I have a job offer in the US, could we use that to cover the acceptable levels of income for the I-864?

~ Again NO. Only current runing job incomce will be counted. Thanks for your help!
