I personally don't agree with witchcraft as a religion although for a long period in my life I practiced, but if the US is supposed to be a purely secular society where all faiths are accepted then they shouldn't be discriminated against anymore than jews, christians, muslims, hindus, etc. etc. etc.

Exactly, you can't force faith on someone it's something personal.

Now myself I don't strictly adhere to any one religion because I'm just too damned analytical about things and I find to much that I can't make sense out of. BUT as I said I do wear a pentacal, there are elements of wicca that I've been living since long before I even knew it existed and it makes sense and logic to me, and that is the idea that every thing you send out comes back to you 3 fold. Then it's up to you...if you want to wish horrible things on another person, be prepared to get 3 times as bad back. If you do good, then it too comes back 3 fold.

I've always lived that way...of course until I read the wiccan rede it wasn't in those words but I always believed that if you harmed others you were only hurting yourself and if you wanted good things to come to you, you had to give good.

What's the problem if she just wears it UNDER her uniform instead of on top? If it's really a personally significant symbol it shouldn't matter to her if anyone else sees it... when I was in high school you weren't supposed to wear jewellery to school but I was given a cross by my grandma, and I wore it on a long chain underneath my dress where nobody else would even know it was there.
