So we got the interview appointment letter for my wife's interview for her AOS. I was so excited ... until I realized the date was November 11, 2010. November 11 is Veterans Day and it is a federal holiday. Are USCIS application centers even open on that day or am I going to have to call to reschedule and wait some more. Frustrated ........

So I just called USCIS and they couldnt tell me anything about whether or not the Jacksonville office will be open that day. The lady on the phone told me that the only way to find out is to schedule an INFOpass. So I have to drive 5 hours to Jacksonville just to find out if the Jacksonville office will be open on Nov 11. Ridiculous!!!!!!

Well I got a hold of a "higher up". They told me that it may not be unusual for them to be open for military people (im active duty air force) on that day. Still didn't really give me that big of a warm fuzzy though. I hope they are right.

We just got an interview date at the Jacksonville service center on Veteran's Day (11/11/2010) too! This is weird... they are a federal agency and one would think they'd be closed. So I'll call tomorrow too and see what I find out. Any more news, Solid_Sal?

Through the military help line I was able to email the military liasion. I received a reply that this was an error and we should be receiving new interview dates ... probably the 10th.

Called USCIS this morning and spoke with an immigration officer, it turns out the Jacksonville Service Center *is* closed that day and this was an error as you mention above. We actually got our second appointment letter in the mail today for an appointment on 11/10.
