Temporary EAD stamp

Hi All,

I just wanted something cleared up for me about the Temp 90 Day EAD in particular as I am quite confused. If I was to fly into the US via JFK to get the temp EAD stamp, I realize I wouldn't be able to legally work until I have a SSN. Am I right in thinking that a SS office will process a SS application faster if that particular office recognises the stamp?

As opposed to waiting a couple of weeks before my name is in the SAVE system?

And also if there is a gap between this temp EAD and then 1 year card (which is likely), are you still allowed to work, but not be paid for it?

Thanks,

Michael
