I can't vote in the US, the candidates I voted for in the UK wouldn't mean a thing to you.

Elaborate how that is not currently being done. I am struggling to work out how the federal government can be exceeding its limits on government if not doing so would necessarily be unconstitutional. Can you explain in what areas the current limits are being exceeded precisely and why that is permitted if these are constitutional limits?

You follow UK politics? Then you would know that one can only vote for a candidate who stands in the constituency of your residence. I highly doubt you would have heard of the constituency that I voted in, let alone any of the candidates who stood there.
