Hello, this question probably has been asked before some where...sorry if this is repeated again...

Our case has been delayed and false information from Guangzhou through out the process, but packet 3 was finally logged in on 9-8-2010, which should have been logged in 1.5 months ago... so we still haven't received the interview date yet. How long does it usually take to get the interview date after P3 is logged in? The embassy told us the wrong information for more than a month, so will they assign an early interview date because of it?

Thanks!

usually - 'interview date set' between 2 to 8 weeks after GUZ IV logs the received P3 packet, for an interview date somewhere 4 to 12 weeks past the 'interview date set' date. At this stage, most depends on namechecks initiated by GUZ IV.

what is your 'source' at the embassy, that is telling you the 'wrong information' ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

That's a long time to wait...recently I've seen people who got their interview date set 2 or 3 days after the P3 is logged in. Is that possible?

The source was from the email replies from Guangzhou IV, but i don't know if the replies were from the same person or not...

Hopefully, it's not gonna take that long to schedule the interview...

GUZ schedules interviews in blocks, so if your P3 has been logged into their system you should be in the next scheduling block. If they have already book interviews for several weeks, it could be a while before you have your date. Just keep calling DOS to ask...don't bother with emailing GUZ.

DOS: 202-663-1225 (Option 1 for main menu, then 0 for operator). This is just billed as a long distance call in the US, not the hefty fees like calling some of the consulates, and always seemed very kind and helpful when I called. (about a million times)

They can tell you any steps that have been taken on your case to date.

Good luck!

I heard that someone called DOS and told him that interviews in October are full, and have to wait for dates in Nov... So i was wondering does the DOS know the number of interviews in a given month?

This I can not answer. DOS oversees the embassy offices, so I would think that they have a handle on the number of interviews at some level, but the person on the phone might not have access to that information.

You calling DoS Hotline, checking Status? http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/ Dodi's posted 'how to call', I've posted, further down in that topic, 'what you can get'.

Yeah, i've read through that weeks ago... waiting is stressful... For some reason, most of the time when I called DOS, it's always the same lady... Last time i waited for like 35 minutes after she answered my call to find out the current status...

Yeah, any idea when they gonna schedule more people for interviews? or since October is full, they are not gonna do any scheduling until October.

Someone also mentioned that if people call DOS too often, DOS will move the case to the end....
