Sorry, don't know which forum - Visa Waiver - I 94W

Hello everybody.

I hope somebody can help me. I just don't know in which forum I should post this question.

My parents from Germany have visited me last week. They have been here on the normal Visa Waiver, the I 94W. Friday they have returned to Germany and now told me that they still have the green forms, the I 94W, in their passport. What should they do now? Send it anywhere? Maybe to the U.S. embassy in Germany? What if it gets lost on the way there? I don't want my parents to get in trouble next time they want to come visit.

So, please help me.

The following is from the webpage of US Embassy in Tokyo (Japan is also a visa waiver country). I am sure the advice provided will apply to your parents as well. Read it carefully.

I still have the I-94 or I-94W in my possession; what should I do?

Under U.S. law, all travelers to the United States must return the I-94 or I-94W departure record cards to the appropriate authorities before departing the United States. A traveler who fails to do so may be recorded as making an untimely departure from the United States. Without an accurate record that you departed the United States within the time set when you entered the country, the Department of Homeland Security may conclude that you overstayed the period of time granted on admission.

If you are still in possession of the I-94 or I-94W it is your responsibility to ensure that it is surrendered to the appropriate authorities so that your record is corrected and that you do not experience any problems on future travel to the United States as a result.

You are required to complete the back of the card listing the port of departure and date of departure from the United States and the carrier/flight information. The I-94 or I-94W together with a letter of explanation and evidence of your departure from the U.S. should be sent to

ACS - USCIS, SBU,

P.O Box 7125,

London, KY 40742-7125,

USA

Do not mail the I-94/I-94W to the Embassy or Consulate as we do not have the authority to update records.

I had this happen on a trip over before my K-1. I sent everything to to the Kentucky address (include bank statements showing you are active in home country, pay stubs or letter from employer anything that shows you are physically there not here) and never heard a word OR had any further problems entering the USA.
