Income & Assets for I-134

Here’s the situation:

- Contract (temporary) work salary = 5x poverty level requirement

- Savings and retirement acct = 5x poverty level requirement

Since the work is temporary (I contract for a living), is it ok to include info on salary and assets? If there is an issue due to work not being “permanent,” I’d like to also have assets info on the form to help convince the consulate.

I’ve read on VJ and I-864 instructions where it’s recommended to use both assets and income only if the income is not enough. In this situation the income is enough, just temporary. I’d rather use both than just one. Is it ok?

2008 = $45k

2009 = $50k

Current = $90k. By choice, 2010 is the first time I will have worked 12 mos straight in a few yrs. Possibly the contract will end in a couple of months, but it may be extended. No way for me to know right now.
