Hi,

Case completed at NVC on Aug 31. Making things ready for a hopeful Oct interview. Need some help, guys.

I called VFS helpline today and the person's answer lacked confidence and it left me further confused.

1. I had sent all originals to NVC. Do I need to still submit the photocopies of all the docs to VFS?

2. Suppose, I need to submit photocopies, is it the photocopies of certificates(birth, marriage, police clearance) or do they also need photocopies of DS230 and I864 forms that we sent to NVC?

3. Can I submit the secondary evidences like photos, invitation cards etc to VFS or do I need to submit at the time of interview directly?

4. They say, they need original appntmt letter. So print out email that NVC sens won't help? If then, how long do i keep waiting for this 'original appointment' letter?

Thanks for your help on this.

As BobbyK pointed out--that's what I had to submit to Calcutta VFS for a Mumbai interview.

For Chennai, you may simply pay the the courier fees and take everything to the interview. Some choose to submit their medical to VFS as well.

Good luck!

You can print out the NVC appointment letter email -- that's your original interview letter.

Mumbai also sent me an interview letter by registered post -- I assume Chennai also does the same. It's ok if you don't receive it--no big deal. All the stuff in that packet is already on the website.

hey thx, ppl..

bobby, yea..i did see that link and after that called VFS cos I was kinda confused. This pkt4 link http://travel.state.gov/pdf/supplements/MDR-SUP-ENGL-0001-0903.pdf mentioned only paying abt courier charge.. was wondering if that VFS FAQ is outdated.

So I guess I will wait for pkt 4, print it out and tell VFS it mentions only abt courier fee.
