Good day..earlier today, i was about to purchase my ticket going to SFO this September and would be booking for PAL(since they have a non-stop flight)...weeks before, when I inquired about it, the lady from the travel agency told me that they still have a cheaper rate of 660 dollars for a one-way ticket MNL-SFO, thinking I would belong to a first time immigrant, we were so excited coz atleast it's the cheapest fare so far after searching online and inquiring...I went to the travel agency again just this morning with the payment...I was confused if I would be considered a 1st time immigrant knowing that my visa is a K1(non-immigrant)..I forgot to bring my passport(hehehe...)...so I told her that I'll just inquire what would be the requirements then and I'll just come back tomorrow to buy the ticket...since I was worried, I mentioned to her again that in my passport is a K1 visa and she said ok...then, few minutes later she told me that she gave me a wrong ticket fare becoz the fare she gave me was for 1st-time Immigrants :crying: (lucky for them they can have cheaper fare rates..)...It's not her fault though coz we both thought I am on the qualification of being a 1st-time Immigrant...she explained that it's in the policy of every airline, more specific to PAL(she was looking through a portfolio of fare rates maybe..I'm not sure) that every fare rate applies on specific visa type..so she said that since I'm on a K1 visa, I'm not considered to be a 1st-Time Immigrant and within the fare rules, K1 visa is not applicable to such rate and that I should buy a one-way ticket...ahhhhh...I was like what??..do airlines have such policy??...it's the first time I knew about such..now, I asked her about the fare for the "special" K1 visa fare..and it was almost like 910 dollars(although we expect it already to be expensive coz I'll be flying by next week..)...she just gave me an itinerary which I had discussed and explained to my fiance..I'm really blessed that my fiance didn't mind at all with the additional payment, just as long as I will be there with him already but ofcourse, if we could just get a cheaper ticket(ok..less cheaper one)..it would really be a great help and a good cost-cut!!..we didn't expect that we would be approved with a visa as soon as this(of course, we prayed it would be soon  ), so I guess the fares are really expensive...

Idk..but I guess, for those who will be flying International soon, better inform them your visa type whenever you inquire or purchase a ticket here in the Philippines..:thumbs: well, the only good thing about buying here is that they include already the Phil travel tax....God bless everyone...

I don't tell anybody anything when I purchase tickets.

I suggest you don't tell strangers your business.

Good luck

When I bought my ticket, they didn't ask if I am immigrant or not.I just only booked to travel agency online and using my husband debit card and the immigration in the airport never ask anything. However, good luck on your trip.

do you mind posting the name of the travel agency and contact info you called? the info about them having cheaper one way ticket for first time immigrant would be a very big help for me. i'm looking at 3 one way tickets being purchased (hopefully) in the near future...and the cheaper i can get them using PAL...the better for me and my pockets.
