Hello,

I've been married for 11 months, We applied for AOS in December 2009 and I got the GC on March 2010 with no problems at all.

I decided to leave my husband a month ago, after been very depressed, frustrated, sad and I cried practically every other day the last 2 or 3 months. He is a great guy and love him, but He has "anger problems" He overreacts to small issues like wrinkles in the cloths, stains in the floor, in the carpet, He yells a lot, He insulted me many times, he threatened me with sending me back to Mexico and never let me get back to US, cancelling the insurance (health and car), He asked me to leave his house many times, He locked the car so i couldn't get out of the house, some times I had to lock myself in the bathroom because I was scared of him, there were some times that I couldn't sleep because I thought He will kill me, I know He will never do that, but when He gets mad, it's like another person. I asked him to ask for professional help, I also told him that I will help him, He told me many times that He doesn't need to talk to someone as messed up as him... Then He is very sorry, he apologize for what he did, he is very nice, very sweet...like I said before, like another person... finally one day I got a suitcase and i came to Mexico with my family...I've been here for a month. Now he is taking therapy to control his anger and He wants me to go back =( but I'm still very scared of him. I want to start the divorce but I don't know how, He told me He doesn't want the divorce so He won't do anything about it. I also would like to give back the green card, but I just don't know how to do that. I need to apply for a Visa because all the jobs I had in Mexico before I married him, were with American Companies so I traveled a lot for business and in order to find a good job I will need a B1/B2 visa....

I'm very sad, but I spoke to a psychologist in Mexico and she told me it is better to get away from him, if he did not change in 40 years, it will be hard for him to change now.... =( and I don't believe in him anymore...

I need some advise on what to do, How to start everything? Divorce in Arizona? give back the green card?? get a B1/B2 visa after giving back the green card?

I apologize for giving so many details, but I wanted to explain why I need to get divorce and give back the green card.

Thanks a lot for your help

Imelda

Go to any US embassy or consulate. You'll sign an I-407 and give them your green card. Be sure to keep a copy of the I-407.

You can get divorced anywhere you like. It would be difficult for you to file a divorce in Arizona if you don't live there. You'd have to hire an attorney in Arizona to represent you. It would probably be easier to divorce in Mexico.
