My fiancee is always from Thailand and we are in the process of applying a k1 visa.Through my own experience it is somehow better to have someone assisting you and your loved one in Thailand unless you will be completing all the paperwork for your loved one.I would encourage you to join the Sawasdee forum where others will help you make the right decision through their own experiences.

As bless1010 said, look for the Swasdee 4 thread in this K-1 forum. I know some of the members used an agency in Bangkok to help the fiance(e) with papers, medical, scheduling, instructions.

Other members have successfully done the entire process themselves.

Good luck
