8x slower version of Justin Bieber song sounds... amazing

Justin Bieber is so cool.

When you slow down his songs to an eighth of their original speed, that is.

All I knew of Bieber until today was that he appeared in a somewhat uncomfortable SNL skit with Tina Fey a few months ago, but a remix of the tween heartthrob's song "U Smile" that has been traveling at the speed of the Internet surprised me and a whole lot of people with its amazing cosmic ambiance sound.

Bieber's original 4-minute song is a largely uncreative and unremarkable piece of cookie-cutter pop, but listen to the stretched-out 35 minutes and 29 second super slow remix, dubbed "U SMILE 800% SLOWER", and you'll swear you're listening to a monstrous but peace-loving ocean's surf as some all-encompassing ethereal chant hums in the language of the whales. Into your brain.

It's nuts, is what I'm saying.

According to Cnet, the remix was first posted in audio hosting site SoundCloud by a user called "shamantis." Entertainment Weekly credited the slowed-down version of Bieber's song to 20-year-old musician and producer Nick Pittsinger.
