Did you declare children on the G-325a?

nope, but on her medical it will show that she was pregnant and will tell that she has a kid...

I suggest you begin preparing an explanation why the children were not disclosed. Perhaps other VJs can share their own experience with you regarding this type of issue.

Good Luck!

Ooooops! Our mistake...there is no place to disclose children on G-325A. It is required on the DS-230.

Sorry for the confusion...

Its normal to feel nervous when the interview is fast approaching but in your case I'm not really sure what to say but to tell the truth beacuse if you lie and they find out their will be a red flag.Just pray that they will not ask you about that matter so that you will be approved. Good luck.

Can I ask why did not declare it?

Sounds like you need to come up with an answer why you did not declare if beneficiary has kids.

Normal to be nervous. Everyone goes through with it, but just try to relax.

yeah, big mistake in our part, we thought it may get delayed, since we dont have plan to bring the kid here yet, thats why we decided not to declare it. Whats the worst case scenario? hope she wont be denied on her visa.. Wonder if anyone here have the same dilemna were in...

Well the DS-230 isn't completed until she signs it at the Embassy.

I would:

Bring a corrected on with her and explain that since the child won't be coming to the US she mistakenly marked "NO" for children.

OR

BEFORE signing the DS-230 inform them that she mistakenly marked "NO" for children as her child will not be coming to the US and ask them to allow her to correct the DS-230.

Until she actually signs the document she isn't swearing to it's contents so she should be okay.

i still can't figure out why do you guys have to deny that she had a child? it's a domino effect..if the medical found out that she actually gave birth..then that could be a red flag..

i'm not an expert here..but you should've declare the child and just state that the child will not follow her to US..

let's just hope that it will not be asked on her interview...

good luck

I think you better contact an immigration attorney regarding your explanation and how to correct your mistake (if possible). You can probably set a consultation visit for a fee near $100.

I doubt you guys are going to get any favorable outcome for lying to expedite the visa process. You should run to get this corrected prior to the medical. Perhaps the attorney will advise you to submit a corrected DS-230 as fast as you can..?

BTW..VJ TOS violation if we advise you to lie. Get to a lawyer pronto!

I will cross my fingers, this situation is like a Catch 22 logic.

I highly doubt they will ask, but cannot be certain of what will happen.

Have a plan incase you get asked that question.

But at the same time, dont stress too much about this situation.

You MUST correct this issue. If they discover any intentional misrepresentation then you can be banned for life without the possibility of getting a waiver.

The DS-230 isn't signed yet so you can correct it. In fact they should ask you to review it to make sure it's correct before you sign it.

This is the best advice. The US Embassy does allow for corrections during interview. If asked why the child was not declared in the DS 230, explain that since the child is not coming to the US with her, she thought that it was the right way of answering the form. Bring a corrected DS 230 or request to add the child's name during the interview, as advised above by Bob4Anna.

During medical, however, make sure your wife answers questions about having children correctly. This should remove any doubt that she is hiding her child.
