Question about TAXES

hi all ,

im married , have a child whose almost 3 years old , i have a full time job and my husband is self employed .

i claimed my son on taxes but not my husband , my question is can i fill taxes without my husband ?

other thing i put '0' on W4 or W2 (CANT remember ) , if i change it to : "1" will i have have to pay something in the end of the year ?

You can file 'married-filing separately' yes. However, you do have to think about the ROC for the CR-1 and you will need as much joint proof as possible. Really it would be best to file together. It saves paperwork for the taxes now and for the ROC later. But if you are gonna just do it yourself anyway, the lower the number you put, the higher taxes will be taken out. That form should have a guide for you to decide how much to claim....head of household, you, kid. Read the form carefully so you don't get too much taken out or too little to owe taxes at the end of the year. It's a pretty good guide. Just my two cents....
