SECURITY WARNING

This document contains several inbuilt security features, some of which are listed below. Please refer to the reverse for a dull description of the security featres. The pink "Eagle" image on the left and right are printed in a heat sensitive ink and will disappear if moderate heat or friction is applied. The border around this Security Warning is printed in MICROTYPE which reads NSW POLICE CRIMINAL RECORDS SECTION when viewed under magnification. The document background has a pattern of fine wavy lines and a gradual colour change from blue to pink to blue."

On the back it does indeed go into more detail, apparently there are seven eagle images printed in invisible fluorescent ink which glow under ultra violet light.... It goes on and on... it's the most well fraud protected document I've ever had, maybe even more so than money? Anyway, thats my certificate that I got in the mail and took with me to my K-1 interview.

I don't know about being more protected than money, it's not so hard to find heat sensitive ink and ultraviolet stuff is everwhere. It's much harder to find polymer to print on and actually be able to print on it. I'm not sure if you ever studied oz money closely but it is immensely rich in detail all over. And new money also has funky textures on it too which make it cool and like, such as.

this is my police cert, it's pretty basic, just has a watermark and signature... they also handwrote my details in, which was very kind..could also be a security feature?

LOL at all the certificates posted! VERY FUNNY sugarbob!

I DO see what you mean about the high school certificate thing :D I'm glad the same wording made you happy. Definitely a national police certificate! :) I bet you're excited about the interview!

Kinda :P My priority atm is the medical @.@ Not a fan of doctors :P I also don't have an interview date yet, as I was waiting on the consulate to give me notice as to what to do about my police certificate. I think I might wait till Friday, or Monday when I'm at the medical before I send it in... perhaps... @.@ too. much. waiting.

Niphredil, don't choke when you hear this but I think you might be given a late November or early December interview date. I emailed them confirming receipt of our forwarded NVC case and interview date. They replied to us with a December 10th interview date! I wrote back asking for a late October interview date should any openings arise. I hope they can squeeze my wife in. She has almost everything minus the medical. The Police cert should be sent to her by next week. She should receive the Packet 3 / interview letter sometime next week.

Did you get printed versions of the stuff in Packet 3 like the links in this FAQ from the consulate?

LINK: Sydney Consulate IV FAQ

Based on what I see below, it's confirmed that you do bring the originals (and one photocopy) of your docs. So I guess you should be bringing that Police certificate vs. having them mail it to Sydney.

Bringing your documents

You will need to bring all your original documents or certified copies at the time of the visa interview. You must also bring one photocopy of your civil documents and police certificates

Yeah, but then in the paperwork about Police Certificates it says:

"For NSW and Queensland residents, your police record will be sent directly to the U.S Consulate in Sydney by the police department, and the Criminal Records Section will notify you that this have been done. If you do not receive this notification within 3 weeks of your application, we strongly recomment that you ascertain the status of your records by checking at the police station where you initially made your request."

Getting tired of these contradictions. The paperwork can't seem to make up it's mind if it wants me to send DS-230 part 2 in either, as the DS-2001 only mentions sending in DS-230 part 1, but the information packet says to send both.

Hi I have just sent my ds 2001 to the sydney consulate. I emailed them and they told me that they were scheduling interviews for the month of january 2008! and that they shall let me know when my interview will be. I thought sydney was faster! So It looks like several months without the wife! Has anybody else had this with sydney or put in their ds 2001 recently and have been scheduled a interview sooner? Thanks
