Hi,

They are refering to the coversheet (barcode leter) that is generated after you pay AOS and DS-230 fees. Checklist mentions what documents are needed with DS-230 to send it to NVC. Packet 4 on mumbai us consulate states all the documents that you need to send with DS-230

http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/media/pdf-visas/info_sheet_packet_4.pdf

Also post this in IR-1/CR-1 forum as many members from Gujarat state that will be able to help you more if you have any specific questions.

As we did the visa process for my husband like 2 years ago so I don't remember exactly...

Hi,

I asked my husband about the Passport PCC and he said that if the passport is issued new and it is not more than 6 months (during the time of your visa process) than you don't need a passport PCC just need a local PCC.

P.S. Do double check on this matter before you take any final decision...

You still need a local PCC but do not need a passport PCC since it has not been more than 6 months of your passport from the date of issue... When was the your spouse passport issued? For more clarificaltion call NVC customer care and they will be able to shed some light on this.. Specifically ask for Gujarat state only...

Pru, when did your wife change her name on her passport?

You still need a local PCC but do not need a passport PCC since it has not been more than 6 months of your passport from the date of issue... When was the your spouse passport issued? For more clarificaltion call NVC customer care and they will be able to shed some light on this.. Specifically ask for Gujarat state only...

Bani :star:

Sure its not the other way around?

Thought if the passport has been renewed before 6 months of your visa approval(Interview) then you only need the passport pcc and not the local pcc.

http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivpolicecertificates.html

My wife took our barcode sheet to the Anand police station and was able to get her PCC. It wasnt that easy though, they still argued with her about the checklist. It wasnt until she called some friend who is a visa agent who then talked to the police officer to convince him to issue the PCC. She did get it after paying some money.

The Ahmedabad PCC was easy to get and just had to show the bar code cover letter.
