FULL AUDIO: Dr. Laura Schlessinger's N-word rant

I care as little about Dr Laura's family life as she does about the people who call into her show for advice.

She's a cold self promoting shrew who uses other peoples personal problems to advance her own agenda.

You know little about her and yet you have such strong words.

And I did listen to the news story when it broke, which gave little more info than her mother was found, foul play suspected, Dr Laura not available for comment.

When she did address it on her show all she did was talk about the problems in their relationship and how it was her mothers choice. Hardly the response of a daughter to losing a parent. And let's not forget, Dr Laura has had calls before from people with similar family situations. What use is her advice when she apparently doesn't apply it to her own life.

Her mother went awhile with out being discovered and Laura was on defense by the time she addressed it. So is it reasonable to think that she had to explain how this was possible how her mom could of gone so long without her knowing...Yes! That is why you heard what you heard on the radio. Put things into perspective.

And let's not forget, Dr Laura has had calls before from people with similar family situations. What use is her advice when she apparently doesn't apply it to her own life.

Care to give a example? She often goes on and on about how just because someone gives birth to you doesnt make them a mother or father. She doesnt make excuses for bad parents and I think her reaction to this situation was consistent to what she says on her show.

I listened to her show a lot with my ex. We listened to it because it was amazing that one person could be so loathsome.

From what I know of her rants, its what she does, rant for attention and ratings.

Its not rants. Have you ever listened to more than just one or two shows. She has a philosophy that she follows and has been consistent. Its a tough love sort of approach.

Then she apologizes because no society is a simple vacuum where context is devoid of history. Many people ignore that for many different reasons.

Its not that we dont recognize the history its that we dont find it as a acceptable reason for the double standard.

I can accept double standards exist (which they do, although not as some amorphous belief structure as some would claim) as much as others need to accept that they claim double standards out of closet prejudice.

I think for many it has nothing to do with prejudice, there just fed up with this nonsense.

History is what it is and historical context, as well as accurately labeling communities and subsets thereof, is critically important if you're going to try to make a point.
