Yeah she's a lovely woman. Just look at how she handled her own mothers death, especially after the story was originally reported as homicide.

She talked openly about what happened on her show and also went on the Larry King Live Show. Do you think she didnt love her mother? What about the handling did you not like?

I was a KFI junkie for years and years. I agree with many of the things Dr. Laura harps on. I can't however disagree with many of the things people here said. I always felt that she forced her son to join the military just to make herself look better.

Yep I think she didn't love her mother and had no emotional reaction about her death. When they announced the story it was reported as a murder. After hearing her response barely minutes later, anyone would be forgiven for thinking that she did.

I'm not surprised that some are trying to politicize race yet again. When someone compares this harp's venomous comments (to get more attention no doubt) with some actual historical context and accuracy in defining what would constitute 'acceptable community' usage of that 'word'... then the dialogue can be more honest. Until then, we'll continue to see many closet racists ranting about how unfair it is for whites it is in this country these days.

When the story broke if I remember correctly her mother had gone a couple days before being found dead. The media got a hold of this and there was headlines hinting that she didnt care and how could she have been so alone. Put yourself in her shoes. This was part of her response that you and other Laura haters like to try and use against her - “I am…so sad to learn that she died as she chose to live—alone and isolated”

They didnt have a good relationship, her mom was distant and hardly the ideal mom. Had you heard her whole story, which she did explain on Larry King and on her show you would know that she did care.

And let's not forget, Dr Laura has had calls before from people with similar family situations. What use is her advice when she apparently doesn't apply it to her own life.

Plain and simple if you took what she said and you put it in context I think its safe to assume that no reasonable person should be offended.

From what I know of her rants, its what she does, rant for attention and ratings.

Then she apologizes because no society is a simple vacuum where context is devoid of history. Many people ignore that for many different reasons.

I can accept double standards exist (which they do, although not as some amorphous belief structure as some would claim) as much as others need to accept that they claim double standards out of closet prejudice.
